AJ Rafael began his singing career in the summer of 2004 when he wrote his first song, “How’s San Diego Pauli?”. The following year in 2005, AJ produced and recorded his first own album in his garage. In 2008, AJ began to perform in places outside of Southern California, both nationally and internationally, in countries such as Australia, Canada, Austria and the Philippines. As one of YouTube’s top musicians, AJ has used social media as his vehicle to spread his music with over 900,000 subscribers, 140 million views on YouTube, and hundreds of thousands of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter followers. With AJ’s 2011 release of “Red Roses” in US stores nationwide and digitally on iTunes, his album rose up to be in the Top 10 Pop albums and #13 on Billboard’s “Heatseeker” chart. Currently, AJ performs with the “AJ Rafael Band”, consisting of Chad Manalo on the bass guitar, Andrew Rhim on the guitar, Eric Kern on the drums and AJ himself on the keys.
