Kurt Kanazawa is an actor based in Los Angeles. Kanazawa graduated from Harvard-Westlake H.S. in North Hollywood and from The Juilliard School in 2015 with a G.D. in vocal arts. Kurt’s professional opera singing career spanned Italy, France, China, and the US, with the effect of broadening his international acting career. In television, Kurt has appeared in ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, RAI 1’s Provaci ancora Prof!, and two-time Academy-Award winning filmmaker Allan Miller’s ISINGBEIJING live broadcast on Chinese National TV. On stage, Kurt has performed in Hamlet Q Jones (Edinburgh Festival Fringe; Top 30 Show – The Scotsman), Alice Tuan’s Cocks Crow (Ojai Playwrights Conference), Qui Nguyen’s World Premiere (CINO Nights), and Y York’s Nothing is the Same (Sierra Madre Playhouse). His grandmother, Shimeji Kanazawa, known as “The Florence Nightingale of Hawaii,” served as chief liaison between the Japanese civilian internees and the US Military. Honored by the American Red Cross and appointed to the Committee on Aging by Presidents Reagan, Carter, & Clinton, respectively, Kurt dedicates his performances to his grandmother’s lasting legacy of selfless giving.
