LUCAS KWAN PETERSON is a James Beard Award-winning columnist and video producer for the Food section. Before coming to the Los Angeles Times, he wrote the New York Times’ Frugal Traveler column for nearly three years and hosted and produced more than 100 episodes of the food series “Dining on a Dime” for Eater. He is from Oak Park, Ill., and graduated from Williams College.
