Qian Xuesen was a bonafide genius rocket scientist

Qian Xuesen was a bonafide genius rocket scientist. Born in China, he later earned degrees from MIT and Cal Tech, and was one of the co-founders of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. His missile-research helped America win WWII but in the 1950s, due to the anti-Communisit paranoia, Qian was wrongly accused of being a Communist, held under house arrest for 5 years, and then deported to China, where he jumpstarted China's missile and satellite programs.
Venerable LA playwright Henry Ong's last play "Ascent" tells Qian's story. The world premiere is at @skylighttheatre from May 9-June 14.
